The Ordnance B.L. 4.5‑inch Medium Field Gun Mk.2 was one of the British Army’s most important medium artillery pieces during World War II. Introduced in the 1930s, it offered an excellent combination of range, accuracy and reliability. The gun served in North Africa, Italy, Normandy, Northwest Europe, Burma and Southeast Asia.
With a maximum range of over 18 km, it was used for counter‑battery missions, infantry support and destroying fortified positions.
