History
The Bofors 37mm wz.36 was the standard Polish anti‑tank gun at the beginning of the Second World War. It was known for its reliability, mobility, and effectiveness against light German armored vehicles in 1939.
Because the Polish armed forces were still heavily dependent on horse traction during this period, the gun was often transported by a three‑horse limber, as represented in this kit. This allowed the gun to be moved quickly across difficult terrain, which was essential during the German invasion of Poland.
The Dutch armed forces also used the Bofors 37mm, but mainly in fixed defensive positions and with motorized tractors, not with the Polish horse‑drawn configuration.
