The Panzerjäger I was Germany’s first dedicated tank destroyer of World War II. Production started around 1940, using a Czech 4.7 cm anti‑tank gun mounted on the PzKpfw I Ausf. B chassis. It served in France, North Africa, and on the Eastern Front. Despite its light armor, it played an important role in the early war years.
