The M3 Grant was a British variant of the American M3 medium tank, used primarily in North Africa during the Second World War. Unlike the M3 Lee, the Grant featured a turret designed specifically to meet British requirements, along with a modified radio configuration and crew layout. Its primary armament consisted of a 75mm gun mounted in a side sponson, complemented by a 37mm gun in the turret. When the M3 Grant entered service in 1941, its 75mm gun proved superior to many enemy tanks, providing the Allied forces with a significant advantage. Despite its high silhouette and unconventional armament arrangement, the tank proved reliable and played a vital role in the British military's campaigns in North Africa, until it was gradually replaced by the more modern M4 Sherman.
