The T-28 was developed during the 1930s by the Soviet Union as a medium breakthrough tank. It saw combat during the Winter War against Finland and in the early stages of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. Equipped with a main gun and multiple machine gun turrets, the T-28 was designed to break through enemy defensive positions. Although later replaced by more modern tanks such as the T-34, it played an important role in the development of Soviet armored warfare.
