The wz.1917 Schneider was originally a French World War I design. Poland adopted the gun after the war and used it extensively during the 1939 September Campaign. With its large caliber and reliable construction, it remained an important part of Polish field artillery. Despite its age, it continued to deliver effective fire support against German armored and infantry units.
