The Centaur is a popular subject thanks to its recognizable British character, and its important role in the liberation of Europe. IBG provides a cleanly molded kit with fine surface details, making it perfect for both dioramas and standalone display pieces.
The Centaur Mk.IV was a British cruiser tank developed as a variant of the Cromwell series. The Mk.IV version was equipped with a 95mm howitzer, designed to deliver direct fire support during landings and infantry operations.
The Centaur Mk.IV became especially well‑known for its deployment during D‑Day in June 1944. The Royal Marines used these tanks to support the troops on the Normandy beaches with smoke rounds and high‑explosive shells. For Dutch modelers, this vehicle is particularly interesting: during the Allied advance through Western Europe, units equipped with Cromwell and Centaur variants also passed through the Netherlands, making this model historically relevant within the context of the liberation.
Add this Centaur Mk.IV to your collection and bring the Allied advance to life in 1:72!
