The M32 Tank Recovery Vehicle was developed by the United States from the famous M4 Sherman tank. Entering service in 1943, it was designed to recover damaged or disabled vehicles from the battlefield. Some M32 vehicles were equipped with the T1E1 mine trawl, a specialized system used to clear minefields ahead of advancing troops. The M32 served with the United States and other Allied nations during and after World War II.
